YMC is introducing a new concept in hybrid stationary phases named YMC Triart for C8 and C18 preparative scale materials. This multilayered hybrid particle succeeds where even modern materials often fail. With a careful balance between hydrophobicity and silanol activity, the new material performs similar to standard ODS or C8 materials. At the same time, it is stable at high pH even at elevated temperatures! Not only does this widen the applicable pH range for the mobile phase usable. Most importantly, it significantly increases the durability of the material during cleaning in place (CIP) cycles. Owing to the selectivity being very similar to existing ODS and C8 phases it can be possible to substitute current material in existing processes with only little adaptation of the process parameters. Such a step can increase productivity tremendously because of longer runtimes and less downtimes due to column repacking.
For new processes the full scalability from analytical to preparative scale is an important advantage. The 3 μm, 5 μm, 10 μm and 15 μm particles are all produced by the same process adapted from FRT (flow reaction technology). This new technology warrants full scalability from analytical to preparative level and improves lot to lot reproducibility even further. True to YMC’s maxim “Same selectivity, day after day, year after year”.
Triart multilayered hybrid stationary phases are available in C8 and C18 modifications. Particle sizes for bulk material are 10 and 15 μm with pore sizes of 12 and 20 nm. Additional materials based to client specification are available upon request.
We are very happy to discuss with you, the advantages Triart could hold for you. For more information or to apply for a test column, please contact your local YMC distributor or YMC Europe directly in Germany.

New YMC microreactor Systems – Microreaction technology got potential
Microreactor technology, is currently one of the most innovative techniques in the field of chemical synthesis and similar fields. Now specific microreactors are coming to laboratories. Scientific advances throughout the world have
demonstrated the many advantages which can be achieved through the use of microreactors for chemical reactions and processes. YMC Europe offers a complete product range of, mainly automated, microreactors for research
and production. With the two product lines, KeyChem and CYTOS, it is possible to effectively perform the all synthetic work from research lab to pilot plant scale.
A modular system for the first steps in the research lab to production scale, allows both beginners and highly knowledgeable experts to adopt new synthesis strategies. For these the initial experiments, the KeyChem Basic system is easy and fast to adopt. The KeyChemLmodules offer automated, software controlled systems with extensive data logging and a huge choice of reactors and accessories. The Cytos 200 and Cytos 2000 series allow access to pilot and production scale processes.
The choice of reactor modules is dependant on the user’s requirements, the reactions planned and the way the equipment will be used. The liquid handling modules have to match the chosen reactor. For liquid media, these range from analytical HPLC pumps up to high-pressure resistant precision syringe pumps. With these precision syringe pumps it is possible, for example, to continuously pump liquid, in nanolitre quantities, against high pressures. The modules of this system are also robust and stable under high pressure conditions, including the use of viscous media. Different mixer and dwell modules from micro-litre up to high volume millilitre-modules are available with different geometries. By including innovative Peltier-technology, KeyChem systems can be cooled and heated without the need for any external heating media.
YMC microreactors contribute to the concept of “green chemistry”, as they allow users to find synthesis and production procedures which save resources. These can then be used in production process.
We are happy to answer your questions or to demonstrate the equipment.

Binary Prep LC System for isolation of
components from human blood serum
Customised requirements for GMP-conforming extraction of substances are often not satisfied by “off-the-shelf” solutions. Every component in the well-established modular systems from Kronlab meets the requirements which will be demanded by the customers’ needs for an established procedure. The result: A made-to-measure system
The following system configuration provides for a small to medium production system for
an actual user requirement specification:
Fractionation unit comprising:
2 8-port distribution valves for 15 fractions
Column technology:
Several different Kronlab glass Pilot columns with 200 mm and 300 mm ID with certification of wetted parts
Computer-based system control with:
PrepCon control software with threshold recognition, peak fractionation, overpressure shutdown and many more features
In addition, the system engineering provided offers detailed documentation as well as appropriate qualification and support for IQ/OQ/PQ with customised protocols and conditions if requested.
Maintenance and service are performed by qualified scientists and trained technicians with long experience in such systems.
